Electro-Harmonix PICO ATTACK Overview
Sporting the same unique design as the classic Electro-Harmonix pedal but now with an ultracompact Pico chassis, the Pico Attack Decay delivers the distinctive tape reversal effects of the classic original, including volume and reverse swells, backward tape sounds, short staccato notes, and bowed instrument effects. You can not only dial in volume swells in mono mode offering one volume envelope for all notes you can also engage poly mode, which gives you one volume envelope for each note you play.
Like its larger sibling, the Pico Attack Decay sports Volume, Attack, Decay, and Sens (threshold) controls, making it easy to precisely control the intensity of your desired effect and the sensitivity of the effect trigger. A hidden Blend control lets you adjust the wet/dry mix to your preferred balance. An LED indicator displays power on/off as well as the current mode (poly or mono) at a glance. The Pico Attack Decay includes a 9V power supply to get you started.
Control Layout
- VOL: controls the output volume.
- SENS: adjusts the sensitivity of the Pico Attack Decay to new notes. As SENS is turned clockwise, the more easily your playing will trigger and reset the volume envelope.
- ATTACK: as you turn the knob clockwise, the attack time increases. Turn this knob to the minimum to disable the attack portion of the envelope.
- DECAY: sets the fade-out speed of the volume envelopes. Clockwise increases decay time and turning the knob to the maximum disables the decay portion of the envelope.
- POLY button: press this button to choose your volume envelope mode.
Blend Control
The Pico Attack Decay has a hidden Blend control to allow you to adjust the output mix from 100% dry to 100% wet. Blend is set to 100% wet from the factory. The Blend setting is remembered through power cycles, so you can set it and forget it.
