The Model A-3 Lower Manual from Hammond is designed to cradle the XK-5 and create Laurens Hammond's first organ, the Model A, which was introduced in 1953. The Model A-3 Lower Manual uses the same keybed and multi-contact system with the same high-quality cabinetry as the main unit. By removing the existing side panels, the XK-5 slides into lower manual with its vertically extended side panels, thus creating an integrated dual-manual rig with a seamless appearance. The thicker side panels, when combined with the wooden stand and bench, match the aesthetics and functionality of a Model A-3, which is a close relative to the B3.
