The Yamaha YPT-280 is a portable keyboard intended for beginners who enjoy learning and playing various styles of music and just having fun. It features 61 full-size keys and 392 diverse instrument sounds, plus 18 SFX and drum kits. The 150 accompaniment Styles add a backing band composed of realistic-sounding instruments such as drums, bass, and more. Smart Chord technology allows you to play complex chord progressions with just one finger.

The built-in speaker system delivers a clear sound, while the headphone output allows you to privately practice or play. Quiz Mode enhances your musical development with two ear-training games, and there are hundreds of built-in songs-from popular hits, children's songs, classics, and more-play along and learn them by heart. The 3.5mm aux input lets you connect your phone/tablet or music player and perform with your favorite songs. The YPT-280 is powered either via six AA batteries (available separately) or by the included power adapter.

Play with a Backing Band

• The YPT-280 includes a Smart Chord function that lets you easily play musically ideal chords with just with one finger, and it has Style features that automatically provide 150 musical accompaniment tracks (Rhythm and Bass backing) that you can trigger just by playing the root note of the chord.
• Even if you're by yourself, you can enjoy performing as if you were playing with an entire backing band.

Have Fun While You Practice

• With the included Lesson functions, you can practice according to your own skill level. Select your favorite song from the 122 included Lesson Songs, then independently practice your right hand, left hand, or both hands together.
• You can even practice specific phrases of a song. The PYT-380 will evaluate your practice sessions, giving you immediate feedback, so you can get better, faster.

Onboard MIDI Song Recorder

• Use the 1-track MIDI recorder to record your performance with a single button press, and quickly check the results of your practicing.
