The Grace Design m801mk2 is a rackmount 8-channel microphone preamplifier offering clean gain and versatile outputs for recording engineers in studio and live stage applications. Eight balanced XLR inputs feed the mic preamps, which provide up to 64 dB of gain in Default mode, or up to 74 dB of gain in Ribbon mode. Redesigned circuitry yields less noise at low gain settings, increased phase response accuracy, and enhanced RFI/EMI immunity. Each channel features switches for 48 VDC phantom power, polarity, and a -20 dB pad, plus a 24-position, gold-contact gain control that makes precise recall and gain-matching easy. Bi-color LEDs indicate peak levels at thresholds of -14 dBu and +16 dBu, and may be set to a user-defined level. Complementing the eight balanced XLR channel outputs are eight balanced XLR parallel outputs designed for routing to mixer channels, recorder inputs, or outboard gear while the channel outputs send to the primary signal path.
