Behringer B1031A Overview

Designed to be an accurate yet cost-effective referencing solution for home and project studios, the Behringer Truth B1031A is an active, two-way 150W (peak) monitor speaker featuring two independent amps for the 8" Kevlar woofer and 1" silk-dome tweeter, a wide sweet spot, balanced and unbalanced input connection options, and adjustable settings to accommodate different monitoring environments.

Bi-Amplification-The Path to Signal Integrity

With its 150 clean watts (peak) of output through separately powered drivers, courtesy of true bi-amping (2 amplifiers per speaker system), the B1031A delivers high-resolution sound that brings out the best in your music.

Instead of passive crossovers, which can inaccurately separate the frequency spectrum and degrade driver performance, Behringer uses an active crossover and dual amps, one (100W Peak, 70W RMS) driving the woofer and another (50W peak, 33W RMS) driving the tweeter.

Custom-Engineered Transducers

Powerful amplifiers are a great beginning, but what about the part of the system you actually hear? Behringer's LF (low-frequency) and HF (high-frequency) transducers are designed specifically for each application, helping to provide accurate results for your mixing endeavors.

The transducers have been carefully engineered to provide a flat frequency response from 35 Hz to 20 kHz, with tight and accurate low end, articulately detailed mids and clear highs.

Gloriously Wide Sweet Spot

The B1031A's HF (high-frequency) content comes courtesy of a high-resolution 1" silk-dome tweeter mounted with a proprietary wave guide. While other studio monitors have a highly focused sweet spot (the optimal listening position for a pair of loudspeakers), this wave guide is designed to create a much more generous, broader listening zone. That means you and other listeners are free to move around inside the room a little more and still accurately hear the content.

Suited for All Placements

The ideal environment for listening is a room that is flat, neither too reflective (echoes) nor too absorptive (where the sound is muffled). But since all rooms are not the same acoustically, your TRUTH B1031A comes equipped to function in a wide variety of environments. Rear-panel filter switches are provided to adapt the monitor’ s low- and high-frequency characteristics for optimal performance— specifically for your listening environment.

Monitor placement is critical. Ideally, all loudspeakers should be placed away from walls to ensure proper bass response. The B1031A features a set of Room Compensation switches, so you can place it against a wall or even in a corner. Walls tend to enhance low-frequency content, and corners exaggerate bass even more, but your TRUTH B1031A can be custom-tailored to provide honest bass response for your situation, with the simple flick of a switch or two.

The B1031A is equipped with servo-balanced inputs on XLR and ¼ " TRS connectors, plus unbalanced RCA sockets to handle a variety of audio sources.

Thanks to its compact size and magnetic shielding, the TRUTH B1031A can be placed near video monitors, computer displays or digital audio workstations.
