JoeCo iXML License Upgrade for BlackBox Recorder
The iXML License Upgrade for BlackBox Recorder from JoeCo adds iXML capability to your BlackBox Recorder. iXML is an open standard that was developed to simplify the transfer of recorded digital audio files through the post production process. It allows you to include location sound metadata in Broadcast WAV audio files, ensuring that important information which would have traditionally been written down does not get separated from the audio it pertains to. This includes data like Scene, Take, and Notes information, which can be logged during location sound recording and later used by editors in post production.
When the BlackBox Recorder is enabled for iXML, you can enter and edit typical iXML data fields via the system s main menu. You can even connect a standard QWERTY keyboard (sold separately) to the recorder for fast data entry via keyboard shortcuts. The iXML menu offers 3 screens that help you to include a range of metadata, from project names down to notes about individual scenes and takes. The data you enter is then safely stored within your Broadcast WAV files to be recalled later.
The iXML upgrade also allows the BlackBox Recorder to remember multiple headphone monitor mixes that you ve set up during the recording process. The monitor data is stored in the Default Mix section of the iXML chuck, making it easy to refer to an earlier recording that may have had different monitoring needs. You can also adjust the monitor mix via a standard MIDI controller.
