WesAudio _DIONE 500 Series Stereo Bus Compressor with Digital Recall

Merging the best of analog and digital worlds, the WesAudio _DIONE 500 series stereo bus compressor offers legendary mix bus glue and the powerful luxury of digital total recall. On the analog side, it provides high headroom of +24 dBu, THAT 2181 VCAs, variable parallel compression, and selectable THD coloration intensity for big tone that ll help you get pro impact in your mixes. Plus, there s true bypass and hardware A/B switching, so you can easily compare dry versus compressed or two different configurations of settings.

When it comes to the digital integration, _DIONE is high-tech with USB connectivity and plug-in control. It has three touch-sensitive encoders that not only adjust the settings of the analog circuitry, but also allow you to write real-time automation from _DIONE to your DAW. Alternatively, you can draw automation in the DAW and _DIONE will react accordingly. You can even send a DAW track to the sidechain of _DIONE over the USB connection analog compression digitally sidechained from your DAW. The sidechain also has five different filter settings for full control over the trigger signal.

New Implementation of a Legend

The legendary sound of " the" stereo bus compressor has been a true companion on countless recordings for 40 years. Often recognized as " mix bus glue," this particular compression sound has become industry standard in the analog and DAW worlds. WesAudio s _DIONE implements legendary VCA compression into a 500 Series module and brings with it one of the most demanded features in the audio industrydigital recall.

THAT 2181 VCAs

_DIONE is a 100% analog device with +24 dBu headroom. Regardless of its digital control nature, the fully analog signal path provides top-tier VCA compression. It contains two THAT 2181 VCAs in the signal chain and two more in the sidechain detector.

Mix Knob for Parallel Compression

The inclusion of a dedicated mix knob allows _DIONE to perform parallel compression at the twist of a dial.

THD

THD stands for " total harmonic distortion" and it allows you to saturate your signal with beautiful analog color with two different intensity levels. Choose " Mid" for 1% THD or " High" for 3% THD.

Sidechain Filters

_DIONE s sidechain filter functionality allows you to modify signal going into the compressor s detector. It includes three high-pass filters at 60, 90, and 150 Hz, and two tilt filters, which are special " curve" filters.

Four Ratio Settings

_DIONE provides selectable ratios of 1.5:1 and 2:1 for gentle mix bus processing, and 4:1 and 10:1 for more aggressive compression.

500 Series Compatible

Regardless its extensions, _DIONE is fully compatible with the 500 series standard. Digital features can be enabled through the mini-USB socket on the front panel.

ng500 Series

Each WesAudio device in ng500 (Next Generation 500 series) product line is equipped with a special connector. This connector is an extension to the 500 series, and allows your device to be managed/recalled through specialized GCon protocol (e.g. _TITAN 500 series 10-slot frame). This extension is compatible with the 500 series standardized plug type however, some manufacturers apply enormous screws to the plug itself, which prevent the device from fitting in. Based on official research, more than 90% of available 500 series racks will fit just fine. Currently known exceptions include:

• Rupert Neve Designs 500 series Racks (R6 & R10)
• Aphex 500 series rack
• Some older BAE racks (not produced anymore)
• Midas L6 (module won™ t fit to the very end on slots 3 and 6)
• Midas L10 (module won™ t fit to the very end on slots 4 and 8)

Hardware A/B

Even using _DIONE as a pure analog signal processor, you can easily switch between two parallel settings with the magic of simple A/B buttons.

Total Recall and Plug-In Control

Along with classic analog compression, you receive one of the most demanded features in the audio industrytotal recall. Plus, full plug-in control (VST2, VST3, AU, AAX, and AAX DSP) makes _DIONE compatible with most, if not all, major DAWs. Analog Automation

It s very common to want different device settings based on song sections. Now it is possible just draw automation lines in your DAW and the _DIONE analog device will follow. And remember, you can use four touch-sensitive encoders to record automation to your DAW.

WesAudio _TITAN NG500 Recall Chassis (Up to 10 NG500 Devices and 5 Amps of Power)

_TITAN is a complete recall system designed to provide total integration with your beloved analog equipment. It extends the 500 Series connector with additional pins where modules can be designed to support digital recall or any other vendor specific functionalities. This extension is part of new open standard ng500Next Generation 500 serieswhich allows other manufacturers to design and implement digitally controlled analog devices. The linear power supply is capable of delivering 5A of power to bring the sound of your units to the next level. _TITAN can host standarized 500 Series modules. Of course it was designed to recall up to 10 units with signle USB or Ethernet connection. _TITAN allows you to control/recall all hosted modules through one connection. USB for direct connection with your workstation Ethernet dedicated LAN connection to access all devices in your local network. _TITAN is part of an open specification where proper documentation along with dedicated software frameworks can be shared with other vendors free of charge. _TITAN provides a simple standalone application to change status of stereo links between modules.
