Confidently enter the world of surround sound with the MC7.1 from Drawmer, a 7.1 surround-capable studio monitor controller with the same wedge-shaped steel and aluminum chassis of the MC3.1, but with full support for surround sound audio up to 7.1 as well as onboard mixdowns to 5.1, stereo, or mono. The MC7.1 sports the pristine, ultralow noise and transparent circuitry shared by all Drawmer monitor controllers, but with 20 total inputs and a plethora of 1/4 outputs, you can easily facilitate any multi-channel mixing and mastering setup, including three selectable speaker output sets (plus a mono/sub output) for A/B comparisons.
The MC7.1 includes built-in talkback with level control and I/O for footswitch control and talkback mic input. This controller also comes with comprehensive mix checking facilities, such as low, mid, and high solo, L/R cut, phase reversal, individual speaker selection, and more, while control is easy via the variable front-panel knob with quad pots, preset control selection, plus dim and mute switches. Whether you are mixing in 7.1, 5.1, quadraphonic, stereo, Dolby Digital, or THX Surround, you will always have a finger directly on the pulse of your mix.
Mix It Down
The ability to mix down the surround mix to the FL and FR speakers or the independent stereo main speakers combined with the comprehensive cut or solo matrix means any combination of the surround channels can be listened to in the front mains.
Want to focus on the rear channels? Simply mix down to the front stereo speakers then solo them out of the mix. Soloing out the center or LFE channels give a central mono representation across the fronts or stereo mains.
Comprehensive I/O
MC7.1 features extensive I/O to handle any multi-channel mixing scenario, from 7.1 down to mono mixing.
- Two 7.1 analog input paths: two 25-pin D-sub inputs and eight balanced 1/4 inputs
- Two Neutrik XLR-1/4 combo inputs, making one stereo pair for stereo mix input
- Eight 1/4 speaker outputs supporting up to 7.1 surround output
- Two 1/4 speaker outputs for stereo speaker configuration
- One 1/4 mono/sub output
- 1/4 I/O for talkback mic, footswitch, and output
- Two front-panel 1/4 TRS headphone outputs
- One 3.5mm stereo aux input on the top panel
Keep Your Finger on the Pulse
Speaker level matching with switchable mono/sub output, the popular low/mid/high band solo feature, internal talkback mic with footswitch control, and external talkback mic input are all brought over from the MC3.1, completing the rich array of features available on the MC7.1.
