The Ocean Way Audio HR4 is a single, active two-way reference speaker designed to provide highly accurate monitoring with 100° horizontal dispersion for an ultrawide sweet spot, making it well suited for use in professional recording studios and listening environments for production, mixing, and mastering applications. The HR4 provides precise imaging over a wide 35 Hz to 25 kHz frequency range.
A unique dual/hybrid waveguide system based on the speakers at Ocean Way Recording and engineered using 3D modeling ensures accurate, wide-frequency dispersion over a remarkable 100 x 40° pattern. In the mixing environment, this ensures consistent stereo imaging and accurate tonal qualities and balance throughout the room, not just in the ideal mixing position between two monitors.
A 125W amp powers the 8 geometrically reinforced aluminum cone low-frequency driver. The high frequencies are handled by a 1 silk dome tweeter powered by a second 125W amp. With a 116 dB maximum output level, the HR4 delivers plenty of power for loud mixing sessions. XLR analog and digital inputs are provided and the speaker supports resolutions up to 24-bit / 192 kHz.
