Behringer B2031A Overview

Designed to be an accurate yet cost-effective reference solution for home and project studios, the Behringer Truth B2031A is an active, two-way 265W (peak) / 140W RMS monitor speaker featuring two independent amps for the 8.75" polypropylene woofer and 1" ferrofluid-cooled dome tweeter, a wide sweet spot, balanced and unbalanced inputs, and adjustable settings to accommodate different monitoring environments.

Bi-Amplification-The Path to Signal Integrity

With its 265 (peak) of clean output through separately powered drivers, courtesy of true bi-amping (2 amplifiers per speaker system), the B2031A delivers high-resolution sound that brings out the best in your music.

Instead of passive crossovers, which can inaccurately separate the frequency spectrum and degrade driver performance, Behringer uses an active crossover and dual amps—one driving the woofer and another driving the tweeter.

Custom-Engineered Transducers

Powerful amplifiers are a great beginning, but what about the part of the system you actually hear? Behringer's LF (low-frequency) and HF (high-frequency) transducers are designed specifically for each application, helping to provide accurate results for your mixing endeavors.

The transducers have been carefully engineered to provide a flat frequency response from 50 Hz to 21 kHz, with a tight and accurate low end, articulately detailed mids, and clear highs.

Gloriously Wide Sweet Spot

The Truth B2031A's HF (High Frequency) content comes courtesy of a high-resolution 1" ferrofluid-cooled dome tweeter mounted with a proprietary wave guide. While other studio monitors have a highly-focused "sweet spot" (the optimal listening position for a pair of loudspeakers), this wave guide is designed to create a much more generous, broader listening zone. That means you and other listeners are free to move around inside the room a little more and still accurately hear the content.

Suited for All Placements

The ideal environment for listening is a room that is flat—neither too reflective (echoes) nor too absorptive (where the sound is muffled). But since all rooms are not the same acoustically, all TRUTH monitors come equipped to function in a wide variety of environments. Rear-panel filter switches are provided to adapt the monitor’s low- and high-frequency characteristics for optimal performance—specifically for your listening environment.

Monitor placement is also critical. Ideally, all loudspeakers should be placed away from walls to ensure proper bass response. The B2031A features a set of Room Compensation switches, so you can place it against walls or even in corners. Walls tend to enhance low-frequency content, and corners exaggerate bass even more, but the Truth B2031A can be tailored to provide honest bass response for your situation, with the simple flick of a switch or two.

The B2031A is equipped with servo-balanced inputs on XLR and ¼" TRS connectors to handle a variety of audio sources. Thanks to its compact size and magnetic shielding, the TRUTH B2031A can be placed near video monitors, computer displays, or digital audio workstations.
