The Nicerizer 16 MK2 16-Channel DAW Summing Mixer from Phoenix Audio is an analog summing mixer designed to impart the dimension, punch, and articulation associated with analog sound to your DAW mixes. The unit features dented pan knobs on each of the 16 channels, offering precision stereo placement with ease of recall. The electronically balanced input stage can be driven modestly for ultra-clear hi-fi sound, or you can engage a +8 dB switch on any channel individually to drive the circuit for a fatter, more saturated sound.
Once mixed, the stereo signal hits a pair of custom-wound DB694 output transformers, which are coupled to Phoenix`s proprietary, fully discrete DSOP-2 output amplifier. This offers a smooth transition from ultra-clean to beautifully saturated tones. In addition, the Nicerizer 16 MK2 is built with a stereo pair of main outputs with a single level control. Extra features that quickly become essentials include the width control, a stereo bus insert, an independently controlled Aux output, a 2-track input, and a monitor select switch to monitor single pairs of channels.
Furthermore, the Nicerizer 16 MK2`s 16 individual inputs can accept both balanced and unbalanced signals without any of the gain loss typical on most mixer inputs. This is a useful feature since looping through guitar pedals and recording MIDI-driven analog synths in real time while mixing are fast becoming standard practices.
