Schoeps MiniCMIT DMS Set Double Mid-Side Condenser Microphone Trio with Windshield System

The Schoeps MiniCMIT DMS Set is a trio of Schoeps condenser microphones with a windshield system designed for double mid-side recording of dialog and instruments indoors or outdoors in windy conditions. It includes a MiniCMIT miniature shotgun microphone, a CCM 4 Lg cardioid mic, a CCM 8 Lg figure-8 microphone, a Rycote Stereo Cyclone windshield system, an XLR 7-pin extension, and a break-out cable that converts an XLR 7-pin to three XLR 3-pin jacks.

The microphones boast wide frequency responses, excellent off-axis rejection, and compact bodies. The included Rycote windshield is acoustically transparent and offers significant vibration isolation and wind-noise reduction.

An integrated cable system merges the individual mic outputs to an XLR 7-pin jack. Connect the XLR 7-pin output to the supplied XLR 7-pin extension and breakout cable, which converts an XLR 7-pin to three XLR 3-pin connectors. From there, you can easily route signal to your preferred mic preamps.

Schoeps MiniCMIT Short Shotgun Microphone (Blue)

Obtain the sonic characteristics of the highly regarded CMIT 5 in a compact and lightweight body with the blue Schoeps MiniCMIT short shotgun microphone, a top-tier performer for camera- or boompole-mounted use in film, TV, and location recording applications. Compliant with P12 and P48 phantom powering, the MiniCMIT can be used with professional and consumer devices.

A fixed 24 dB/octave low-cut filter at 70 Hz ensures that excessive boom noise and rumble will be kept under control. Special construction and filtering effectively inhibits interference from various sources such as radio, TV, and cellular frequencies.

The MiniCMIT`s supercardioid/lobar polar pattern yields directional characteristics that smoothly increase at higher frequencies while providing low off-axis coloration for natural sound at all angles. With low self-noise, moderate sensitivity, and high SPL handling, the MiniCMIT delivers sonic performance deserving of premium mic preamps.

Professional Sound Quality

The MiniCMIT features the same frequency response curve as the CMIT 5, allowing either microphone to be used without altering the sound. Thanks to a polar pattern that stays the same in the vertical and horizontal planes, the MiniCMIT produces consistent sound quality at any point of rotation.

With directionality that increases smoothly at high frequencies and a 60 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, the MiniCMIT is optimized for neutral, transparent capture of dialogue, foley, sound effects, and instruments. Considering its low self-noise of 14 dBA and moderate sensitivity of -35 dB, it performs best with a clean, high-gain mic preamp.

RFI Shield

The MiniCMIT utilizes special construction and filtering to provide a high standard of measurable immunity from radio-frequency interference (RFI) caused by sources such as switching power supplies, lighting controls, AM/FM radio, digital radio and TV, cellular phones, and broadband communications.

P12 or P48 Phantom Powered

The MiniCMIT features a balanced 3-pin XLR output, low current draw, and support for P12 and P48 phantom power, making it compatible with a variety of professional and consumer devices such as handheld audio recorders, portable field recorders, mixer adapters, and cinema cameras.

Ideal for Boompole or Camera Mounting

Mount the MiniCMIT directly on a stand or boompole using the supplied mic clip, affix it to a camera with an optional shoe shockmount such as the Rycote InVision Video, or place it in the separately available Rycote INV-6 InVision shockmount to prevent the transfer of vibrations to the microphone when attached to a boompole.

Windscreen Minimizes Wind Noise

The MiniCMIT includes a foam windscreen to reduce unwanted wind noise from breezes, fans, heaters, and air conditioners. For maximum reduction of wind noise in indoor or outdoor environments, consider the Rycote Cyclone Windshield Kit (Small) blimp-style windshield and suspension system (available separately).

Schoeps CCM8 LG Compact Figure-Eight Microphone

The Schoeps CCM8 LG is a miniature figure-eight microphone with a detachable cable. The figure-eight pattern design provides a bidirectional pickup that is almost completely identical at all frequencies. The figure-eight pattern is also useful in M/S stereo capturing. The K 5 LU adapter cable and an SGC miniature stand mount with swivel is also included.

The capsule is a pure pressure-gradient transducer with a figure-8 pattern. The bi-directional pattern is almost completely identical at all frequencies.

Detachable K 5 LU Cable

This version of the CCM8 features a detachable 3-Pin LEMO connector allowing easier microphone interchanging and placement.

Schoeps CCM4 LG Cardioid Compact Microphone

The Schoeps CCM4 is a miniature cardioid microphone featuring a detachable cable and designed for use on singing and speaking voices as well as a wide variety of instruments. It can be used as a spot microphone or for stereo recording with additional mics in coincident, ORTF, or M/S microphone arrangements.

The CCM 4 offers a flat frequency response, optimal rejection of rear-incident sound, and a directional pattern that remains constant throughout the audio frequency range. This mic is free of coloration whether the sound is arriving at the front, the sides, or from all around the mic at once.

Rycote Stereo Cyclone DMS Kit 2 Windshield System for Schoeps MiniCMIT, CCM 8 & CCM 4

The Rycote Stereo Cyclone DMS Kit 2 is a windshield system offering acoustically transparent protection for location sound mixers and recordists using a double mid-side array of Schoeps MiniCMIT, CCM 8, and CCM 4 microphones in broadcast TV, film, video, and game audio production. It features an enhanced Connbox design with no straight or parallel surfaces to reduce room tone and resonance. Its Lyre mic suspension and Floating Basket Suspension improve vibration isolation and minimize handling noise.

The 3D-Tex material delivers significant attenuation of wind noise while being easy to clean. Further contributing to the system`s low maintenance is the magnetic locking design, which allows one-handed opening and closure. The one XLR and two LEMO inputs match the connectivity of your Schoeps MiniCMIT and CCM microphones, and the XLR 7-pin output contributes to effective cable management. Boompole compatibility is offered via a brass 3/8" UNC female thread.

Each Stereo Cyclone windshield is individually hand-built in the Rycote factory in Stroud. This very specialized manufacturing process is carried out by a highly skilled Rycote technician and takes many hours to complete.
