Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K/4K Battery Grip

Great quality grip from blackmagic, allthough the estimated 2 hour run time with NPF550 batteries is a bit off - more like 100 minutes. But still very good. Gives the camera a better handgrip

spent all my money on this thing only to realize the original bmpcc4k batteries aren't compatible. make sure you look at the accessories, you'll need another .200 for more batteries and a charger for them. absolutely regret this purchase.

I really dig the look of it but the batter grip could been leaner and lighter. It's too bulky for just carrying two small batteries.

Like any owner of a Blackmagic Pocket 6k camera I too have been continually frustrated by the internal power options the camera comes with. You can only swap out the canon batteries so many times a day before you start seriously thinking about other power options to keep the camera going as and when needed. There are plenty of alternatives available right here on for powering the camera but the battery grip from Blackmagic Design themselves is actually a very smart and very effective solution. If you want to get your camera set up and going in as little time as possible (using the grip is almost as fast as inserting a canon battery into the camera) and enjoy at least 3x the battery life you had before this is the option you should select. This is not the solution to end all solutions and if you still need more power for monitors and other accessories it is worth investigating a V-Mount adapter as an option but for fast set up run and gun filmmaking this is a great addition to your camera kit and super easy to select and buy through the site.

Essential for interviews on the bmpcc 4k or 6k. Still much cheaper than having a larger cinema camera, and the quality for the cost of the bmpcc paired with this battery grip is unparalleled. Not an amazing feel to the design, but practical.

On the plus side this improves battery life from a little over ½ hour for the stock battery to almost 2 hours. On the minus side the attachment to the camera feels a little loose and the pull out battery tray is awkward. I prefer the Canon design where you can pull the batteries out directly and individually, even when the camera is running.
