LanParte ABP-01 Gold-Mount Battery Pinch

I purchased this battery punch for my Canon C100 and it was working fine for a few months until after a while, it started to pollute the audio lines of the camera. It produces a small high pitch sound that embeds itself into the audio of the camera, no matter what microphone, breakout cable, etc. you use. The noise stops when you use a regular Canon Battery and you don't hook up the unit to the camera. Beware of low quality battery pinches like this one and if you so buy it, double check the sound in your camera body.

I did about 2 weeks of research and landed on this LanParte piece. i was sooo excited because it had a built in HDMI splitter, USB, and all the other things. -long term shooting: i plug pinch into the wall but it creates a hum in the audio. I have already purchased new pinches from another brand and moved on. -using mt Anton bauer Gold mounts whenever you add or remove them it shorts out the HDMI ports. I have 2 of the lanparte Pinch's so its not just a defective part it does this on both. It took me too long to get these in the mail i didn't even attempt to send them back.

I use this Battery pinch for my Canon C100 camera pkg. Keep in mind, there is a sperate cable you need to purchase in order for this part to work with your Canon C100. If you search for Canon C100 LanParte, the special cable will appear and is about 20.

This plate is by far the best investment for its price and quality compared to standard battery plates. Any type of power source can be powered through this device at the same time. Solid design and good price!

This is a great piece of gear..and a terrible one at the same time. I love the power output options..price is okay. It DOES NOT CHARGE your batts...I have three of these and none of them will do this. You'll have to drop the extra cash on a real charger. Also - the 15mm rod clamps are cheap. All have broken despite good care. All of my pinches only tighten on one side. Look into something higher quality if you can/have the money.

I use this unit with my Panasonic GH4, Quick Release Gini Rig, and Atomos Shogun. It powers my GH4 and Shogun for many hours (4-5) with my AB Hytron 120. In addition, it helps to balance my Gini Rig, which also includes a Fotga DP3000 matte box and Gini Rig follow focus. I use d-tap to d-tap with the Shogun's dummy battery, and the dummy battery for the GH4 plugged into the 7.4v. I couldn't be any happier.

I use this to power a Sony NEX FS-100 or 700, along with a DP7 Pro monitor, Z96 LED light, Teradek transmitter and BMD HDMI to SDI converter (to feed the Teradek), and a BMD HyperDeck Shuttle 2 and sometimes a Zoom H6 (another AMAZING piece of kit). This is a FANTASTIC tool if you need to output to multiple sources with multiple requirements at one time. I have never tried it with AB batteries because, if I am going to use AB, I am going to buy an AB charging solution (had 8 Dionic 90 HC's and a 1400 4 position simul-charger for several years). With the revolution of tapeless, I do not need that much power anymore, so I moved to Lanpart and have been quite happy with the results. I see reviews that state that they are disappointed that it will not direct charge their AB batteries. That is likely an issue with the battery, not the pinch. AB has a LONG history of only supporting THEIR chargers and vice-versa. Their charging system is SO proprietary, it is nearly impossible to effectively charge them with anything OTHER than an AB charger. AND, if you DO use an after-market charger, it voids the warranty from AB (at least last I checked)... I only use Lanpart batteries with this rig, so I can not state emphatically that this is a universal problem with ALL AB batteries, but I would not doubt it. What I CAN tell you is that, with the Lanpart batteries (which have been excellent), I can shoot for several hours before I need to change out. There is a TON of power in the 150Wh version, and this plate splits, regulates and distributes it without too much overhead. I have found this to be invaluable in long shoot scenarios such as weddings, election coverage and large venue event coverage. Because the output connectors are fairly simple and universal (all are 2.5mm I believe) it is VERY easy to adapt this system to nearly ANY basic power requirement. The D-tap on the plate, combined with the BUILT IN D-tap on the Lanpart batteries makes a VERY convenient power solution for pro gear. USB on board means I can charge my phone, pad, whatever while flying or on location. Awesome on remote shoots. I have made MANY producers, directors and AC's fall in love with me when I took their nearly dead phones, plugged them into my rig and handed them back a nearly full phone a bit later. That feature alone has garnered me repeat gigs. For the money, I do not know of ANY other solution that offers so much for so little. It includes the 15mm mounts (probably 40 in themselves for after-market) and a good quality AB plate (another 20-100 depending on your taste). In all, this is a great little item to have in your kit. One thing to note: IT WILL DRAIN YOUR BATTERY IF YOU LEAVE A BATTERY ON THE PLATE. I am not certain why, but with the battery off the plate it will not drain for WEEKS, but leave it on the plate and it can drain dead in only a few days. I assume there is some overhead when the battery is on the plate, regardless of the draw requirements. Not a big deal, but something to note if you take it remote and leave a battery in place too long. Disconnect when not in use and all will be well... 8-) The ONLY thing I could see that would be a super cool addition would be at least one VARIABLE voltage and amperage output port. This way you could run ANY rig that requires less than 14 volts of power. It could be completely digital and independently switched maybe... Come on Lanpart, lets do an update!
