In short, you can't use it for FX9 unless it's a rare circumstance. I got this to power FX9 while the camera is in a gimbal state. Typical FX9 Dtap cables use the rear AC port which sticks out about half an inch, which could be critical when you're balancing the camera on gimbals such as Freefly Movi Pro. I was hoping this Dummy battery will let you power the camera and save the backspace for gimbal uses. Plugging straight into the back Dtap port of Movi Pro will give you battery warning on FX9 - constant beeping and red light flashing. But if you're one of the peeps that got the Ignite Digi's Expansion Pack, using TB50's, I'm happy to report using a 2pin LEMO to Dtap converter, the power stays constant due to the Expansion pack down-converting a 24v power source constantly at 15v. Plugging into a typical Gold Mount / V-Mount sources will allow you to use the camera without the low battery warning down to roughly 30% of your source's remaining power. From then, the camera beeps so much and won't let you record anymore. I think the dummy battery doesn't have any circuit inside and it's just a hollow shell. It does the job but won't work for all the circumstances.
