Watson D-Tap Dummy Battery (L-Series NP-F)

I own two BMPCC6K Pro cameras so having this dummy battery is a wonderful tool as a back up or as a main source of power. The main benefit of this dummy battery is that it allows me to add it to my multiple D-Tap adaptor that has several ports. This becomes a space saver as I often run several tools such as my monitor and on camera lights through my v-mount battery. The quality of this feels on par with any of its competitors and given this dummy battery's light weight and small size this is a part of my day to day kit.

This is a great thing to have in your kit. Like most of you, I use L-Series NP-F batteries a lot because so many accessories use them (lights, monitors etc..). Heck, even some cameras use N-PF's. And although I love the NP-F batteries, being able to power these accessories with a longer lasting v-mount battery is wonderful. This little dummy battery is a total game-changer. It lets you power your monitor, light, or even your camera using a separate, professional D-Tap battery. Seriously, it's a lifesaver when you need that extra juice for your gear. No more worrying about your battery dying in the middle of a shoot!A nice feature is the built-in regulator. It can handle up to 16.8V input with an 8.2V output, which is perfect for keeping your equipment running smoothly and keeping everything safe.The coiled cable is another nice and thoughtful feature. It stretches up to 24 inches, giving you plenty of flexibility to position your video rig just the way you like it without being tethered too tightly to your power source. It's super handy, especially when you need a bit more room to maneuver, but also coils back up nice and small, when you don't. I like that. The cord and connections also seem well made to me. It should last a long time.Overall, I'm very happy with this dummy battery from Watson. It's been reliable, versatile, and makes managing my power sources a breeze. I feel it is a must-have on everyone's kit. And as you can see from my pictures, I also buy Watson brand batteries. They've been great too.

I've used various p-tap devices for years. It could have been bad luck, but one of the leads on this device broke when inserting the male end into a female end of p-tap splitter that didn't have much friction. In other words, I did not force the male p-tap end of this device, it seemed to break on its own accord. I only used it around 3 times on set. I've had other p-tap devices last years.The thicker part of the pin basically got squished down. Not sure if it was a fluke as other Watson battery products have lasted me a while. A bit weary about replacing this one with the same brand, so I'm going to look at other options.

Purchased this 'specifically' for use with my Atomos Ninja V to connect and use with for video, but the Atomos won't power on. I was going to return it until I tested it with other products I own and saw that it worked. I've used with another Feelworld monitor, my Zoom F6, and my Accsoon Cine Eye II. Output suggests it should work with the Ninja but maybe I'm mistaken. So it does work (not sure to what extent as I haven't used on a shoot), just not with what I purchased specifically for.
