The MC-2U provides sequential charging for lithium-ion BP-U type batteries, automatically switching to the second battery after fully charging the first. It delivers up to 1.9A of quick-charge current without the noise of a typical charger thanks to a fanless venting system.
The charger features a 12 VDC power output that can power a Sony PMW or PXW camcorder when the charger is connected to a wall outlet, and the battery plates are disabled when using the DC output. Four LED indicators show the percentage status of the battery charge. It can charge a single 98Wh battery in approximately four hours or two 98Wh batteries in approximately seven hours.
