Speco Technologies Female to Female HDMI Adapter

I purchased this in the hopes of connecting my new Chromecast with Google TV to my television via an HDMI cable (rather than plugging the Chromecast's built-in male HDMI plug in to the television directly as designed). Unfortunately, it did not work for this use case. With the Speco adapter connecting the Chromecast unit to an HDMI cable connected to my TV, the image was extremely unreliable. It would typically flicker completely in and out rapidly and create significant image artifacts, static, and popping sounds. After ruling out issues not inherent to this product itself - cable itself is fine, connections were all firm - I gave up and managed to plug the Chromecast into my TV directly. Possible I got a dud unit, or just that this item or something else in my (attempted) setup got a bit angry. Either way, I recommend avoiding this product for connecting a streaming device to a TV.
