Made with Belden 179DT cable and Kings 2065-28-9 connectors, the Belden 179DT 3G-SDI RG179 Ultra-Flexible BNC Cable from Laird Digital Cinema is a perfect solution for use on HDTV broadcast trucks. This 6" long cable is 60% lighter and takes up to 40% less space than standard Mini RG-59/U-type coax cables. Its ultralight and extremely flexible design make it ideal for routing cables on camera rigs and various cinema camera applications.
To accommodate today's broadcast technology, mobile television broadcast trucks are densely packed with equipment, making over-the-road axle weight a real concern. To help reduce the truck's load, save space, and improve air-conditioning airflow and gas mileage, Belden offers this 75-ohm coaxial cable. It weighs 7.25 lb per 1000' and guarantees a return loss of 21 dB (minimum), sweep tested to 3 GHz.
It mimics the return loss performance of Belden's most popular Brilliance precision video cables, providing 6 dB of RL headroom against the SMPTE 292M specification. The 179DT features a highly crush-resistant, foamed high-density polyethylene (FHDPE) dielectric, ensuring durability, which is particularly important for use on television broadcast trucks.
