Sony FX30 Digital Cinema Camera Kit with XLR Handle and 18-50mm Lens

So far this is my 3rd camera in a raw, this bad boy do everything you need in a corporate environment great, easy and fast!

The camera is wonderful, but beware, if you want to remove the HDMI cover the little screw that you need to remove to do so is EXTREMELY easy to strip out. I'm now stuck because I can't remove it.

Added a 2nd FX30 so I don't have to haul my RED Camera around. While the bigger brother FX3 does way better in low light, I am really loving the small form factor of all of the lenses in my kit Sigma 18-50, Sigma 10-18mm, Sigma 30mm 1.4, Sony 15mm 1.4.I can use this camera on a Ronin Mini and run with it all day or haul my entire kit in small backpack when I board huge Cargo Vessels.The Slog-3 has been seamless to edit with Premiere. While it's not a RED Camera, it's a beast of a camera for run and gun!

This camera is solid! We use them in a studio setting and also out and about for on location shoots. They are always reliable and record great looking footage

I bought this as a B camera/crash camera to pair with my FX3. Shot a concert with it yesterday and footage looks just as good as the FX3. No overheating issues, like I've seen some suggest. These are great little cameras!

Been using this camera daily for about 2 weeks now in conjunction with my a7s iii (a cam) and a7 IV (still cam). For reference, I primarily produce content for fitness influencers in Florida. Tons of reels/tiktoks, and several long-form YouTube videos each week (live workouts and such). My a7s iii has been my daily driver for years, and still is, but recently it has developed a little bug where it with random switch to photo mode real quick and then back to video mode - effectively ending my recording. This only happens a couple times a month, but there are some pieces of content that clients need to remain unbroken and so the camera spazzing out just isn't an option. Thus the need for a camera that could take on these longer shoots where the camera needs to roll for an hour uninterrupted. Before buying the fx30 I had gotten some time with the sony a6700, which I was really impressed by. Thus I ended up grabbing this budget friendly cinema camera as a stop gap until the fx3 ii or a7s IV is released. With all of that background out of the way, I can say that that this camera has been excellent so far. Active cooling is clutch out here in Florida, ESPECIALLY in the unairconditioned warehouses I sometimes shoot in. Images look stellar, but that is largely dependent on what lenses you are putting on this bad boy. My G Master and some of my G glass really brings the best out of this sensor. I have some great Tamron and Sigma APS-C zooms, but they just aren't quite as sharp as the higher end sony glass. Overall, I think this camera is a great fit for my style of production. Not quite as amazing as the sensor in the fx3, but still punches WAY above it's price point. I would definitely recommend it to other videographers in my field. Oh, photo capabilities are horrible. No mechanical shutter, no high speed drive modes. Don't plan to take photos with this camera.
