ikan OTTICA NDI HX PTZ Camera with 30x Optical Zoom (White)

I purchased this bundle from just last week. I know IKAN has been coming out with better quality stuff recently so when I started shifting my work towards livestreams I was happy to try these out. I got this bundle because of the price point and not needing 4k for now. The hope was to try these out and then add an additional camera (or 2) to the package. I will NOT be doing that. I am packing them up today and returning them... I so wanted to like these but after trying them out on a simple livestream I was floored by the amount of failing these products gave me. I had both cameras plugged into my Atomos Sumo monitor/recorder via SDI and plugged in to a Gigabit Ethernet splitter via ethernet, as well as powered by the power supply. The controller was also plugged in to the same Gigabit splitter. The board/controller seems to be the biggest weakness of this bundle. The cameras themselves were nice and gave a good picture, however one of them was clearly crisper and sharper than the other (exact same settings, wb, exposure, etc) To connect to the cameras you need to search for them, then log in by typing admin on a keypad (like texting on an old NOKIA), then name the cameras. That would be fine if that was the only time you had to do it. It wasn't... Throughout the day it kept saying: Connection Timeout and I would have to search for the cameras again and redo all those steps. Plus all the presets I had for that cam were wiped I would maybe understand if the board and cams had sat idle for an hour, but this was DURING THE SHOW!! My board op said in a 1hr show he had to reconnect the cameras about 10 times. Let's see, what else? If you hadn't come to a complete stop on the joystick with CAM 1 and pressed CAM 2, the first camera would keep moving on it's own with no way to stop it. Fun. The overall pan, tilt and zoom functionality was atrocious. To do a simple slow move it jumps/skips/hops. Not smooth at all. To the point where it's impossible to do on camera moves. Overall this system is probably fine for a church group or something like that, where you will probably set it and forget it. But for actual LIVE streaming work that is aiming for a broadcast feel, this is not it. I'll be returning this and unfortunately spending double or more for something more professional. Once again, the cameras seemed good. The board is trash.
