The Letus35 Ultimate Adapter for PMW-EX1/EX3 is a lens adapter kit that allows PL-mount cinema lenses to be used on Sony PMW-EX1 and EX3 camcorders. Shallow depth of field is a very powerful tool for telling a story and getting details across. Many movies use this feature, yet cameras with small CCDs cannot produce this optical effect. The main purpose of this adapter is to bring a shallow depth of field film look to low budget filmmakers with DV or HDV cameras.
How It Works
This adapter involves the concept of using a PL mount cinema lens to project an image onto a translucent piece of moving glass. This projected image is then literally focused on by the DV or HDV camera and recorded. All this takes place in a tube.
