Shoot superwide, 200° accent shots with the EF Mount HAL 6mm f/4 Fisheye Lens from Entaniya. Even when you crop your image with a 16:9 aspect ratio, you ll still be left with a 180° vertical angle of view. Instead of adjustable mechanical diaphragm blades, this lens uses a set of aperture rings that must be manually swapped with an included tool. Exposure can also be adjusted with the two included ND filters.
The EF Mount is incompatible with DSLRs due to its elongated rear element, which interferes with the mirror system. The RED DSMC2 series cinema cameras require a special modified EF Mount for RED cameras. The lens also interferes with the filter (OLPF) in front of the sensor, which must be removed. When mounting on the Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6K, you will need to use the EF Mount and remove the IR cut filter in front of the sensor.
Angle of View
This lens boasts a superwide 200° when using the entirety of your full-frame sensor. Many shooters select a 16:9 aspect ratio that makes the image appear wider by cropping the top and bottom. This reduces the vertical angle of view to 180° , flattening the top and bottom edges. Horizontally, you ll still get vignetting at the rim of the 200° angle of view.
Aperture Rings
The process of changing the aperture is more complicated than turning an iris ring, requiring you to remove the lens from the camera, open the rear of the lens with an included hand tool, then swap one aperture ring for another. From an engineering perspective, the complex mechanism of the diaphragm blades is drastically simplified with these aperture ring components, but that comes at the cost of the shooter s time. The time investment of swapping aperture rings yields a valuable reward you ll achieve bokeh with perfectly rounded highlights. Luckily, two ND filters are included to limit the frequency of aperture ring swaps.
Extra-Low Dispersion Elements
Four of the 17 elements of the lens are made with extra-low dispersion glass. This preserves the image s finer details while reducing chromatic aberration and color fringing.
