Meike 35mm T2.1 FF-Prime Cine Lens (E-Mount)

It does its job. Cool cine lens that you can use on your Canin R Series with an nd adapter. Did a music video with it a couple of days ago and came out great!

I bought the 35mm,50mm and 85mm lens from the Meike Full Frame Line and I have to say I am very impressed. The body has a good build quality, and the image has what I I feel is an appropriate amount sharpness and contrast. I used these lenses on a feature film in September, and the lenses did everything I needed them too. I frequently use these lenses on a Red Komodo and a Black Magic Pocket 4k, and occasionally on other camera systems and I have been happy with the image they produce on every camera sensor I have put them on.

This is a perfect step up from photo lenses into Cine lenses. If your wondering if you will see a difference between a set of Sigma Art glass and this... You will! I personally think the falloff and flaring on these lenses are perfect for the Modern/vintage blend with a slightly warmer tone then DZO Primes I find these to be a little more welcoming to skin tones. If you're wondering if this is worth the price tag. I'd say so!

It has very very little if any breathing... almost no CA a full 330 rotation on focus covers a huge 45mm image circle and on my Red Gemini Looks fantastic...not over sharp like like my old Sigma art photo glass. - plus its proper metal housing has screw in filter options but I use a MB. You ca NOT go wrong here this punches well above its weight class. And unlike DZO Vespid does force you into a look- they have a very neutral look similar to lenses ive used like the Schnieder Xenon's for PL mount Cine these are a steal all 3 (yes I bought all 3 current avail 35-50-85)

A seriously good lens. Well built nice glass. Super sharp and easy to focus I will be ordering the 85 mm. Anyone thinking of moving up to cine lenses you can't go wrong with theses lenses.

This lens is an amazing value, I love the look out of this lens, good bokeh, the sharpness renders as a detailed image instead of digital sharpness which is part of the appeal of a cinema lens, focus is smooth with almost no breathing, build quality is great......with the exception of the filter thread at the front which is terrible, it appears there are just lines there with no thread pattern.....none of my 82mm filters thread on the front, they will thread on a half spin and get jammed.....very irritating when you don't normally use matte boxes....

I actually bought this 35mm Full Frame lens with their 3 set. And I use it on my Sony FX9 for small budget projects. On a Full Frame sensor, I do find myself using this 35mm often. With so many manufacturers offering cinema lenses at these price points, I think Meike definitely did a very good job with this lens. Build wise, its a very solid lens. All metal. The colour choices of the focus and aperture ring are very easy to read and the red ring on the back is a nice touch. I really like the PL mount on this lens as well, very solid doesn't feel like it will have issues on me. Some odd things to me, the lens support foot that comes as a piece in the kit really is quite small and honestly for my rails and such, really doesn't work. I just use a more universal lens holder. There is no AC side to the lens, just one side of readings. If anyone cares about that. Just a note. The long barrel for focus is great. Quality of picture from the lens: - Chromatic Aberration is well controlled. - Breathing also very well controlled. I really don't notice it on real world shoots. - The flares are nice, the ghost flare happens easily but can be controlled with a mattebox. Overall I am very happy with this lens hopefully in time the whole set will be available. At the moment of this review, only the 35'50'85 are available.
