LOLED Virtual Indiemark 3 Lens Encoder Overview
The updated Indiemark 3 Lens Encoder from LOLED Virtual allows you to capture and send high-resolution lens barrel rotation data to 3D virtual production applications, including Unreal Engine, Vive Mars, Disguise D3, VYV, Pixera, and Aximmetry. The Indiemark 3 Lens Encoder is created for smaller productions and enthusiasts. The updated encoder features a right-angle USB cable clamp, a 1/4" -20 anti-twist thread, and an updated adjustable 15/19mm rod clamp. An RGB LED display on the side displays operational status.
The encoder is managed by the included free-download LOLED LONET lens mapping software for Windows. Through this software, you can send the lens adjustment data to 3D production applications. It is capable of providing a 1:1 correlation between a physical and virtual camera lens. Delivering 4000 counts per revolution, which is 2x the resolution of the previous models, it can detect movement smaller than human hair, and the translated lens data is sent with sub-frame latency at 60 fps via the USB-C interface at up to 1000 Hz.
Its compact size allows you to use it with handheld rigs and gimbals. The supplied lens gear features a 0.8 MOD for cine lenses but is interchangeable with optional gears for ENG lenses.
App Compatibility
Using the free LONET2 software, encoder data can be sent to multiple apps. Specify multiple IPs and stream to a whole cluster, or keep it simple.
- Send through OSC or LOLED's LONET2 protocol
- Compatible with Aximmetry and Unreal's Lens Calibration system
- Native compatibility: Unreal Engine, Aximmetry, Vive Mars
- Supported through OSC: Disguise D3, VYV, Pixera
Pro Performance
The Indiemark 3 lens encoder outputs data at 1000 Hz for smooth, drift-free performance. Use any USB-C cable to start encoding lens data within minutes. The free LONET2 Server software or E2E encoder box makes sending data over a network easy.
Built for Production
The Indiemark 3 improves upon the original by adding an updated, durable rod mount, and an integrated right-angle USB-C cable adapter ensures no risk of accidental disconnection.
Open Standards
The Indiemark 3 communicates through a standard USB-C cable. If you want to integrate it into a custom system, developer docs are available.
Hardware Compatibility
At home on cine camera rigs or DSLRs, the Indiemark 3's tiny size, anti-twist 1/4" -20 thread, and multiple lens gear pitch options all offer a uniquely flexible lens data platform. A clamping USB connector, options for 15 and 19mm rod clamps, and interchangeable gears all ensure compatibility with nearly all cine and broadcast lenses.
