Impact Heavy-Duty Baby VESA Monitor Mount

This looked good in the pictures, but once I installed it on my monitor it was immediately apparent this is a poorly designed monitor mount. The big vice like bar gets in the way of everthing. Unfortunately I will be returning this mount.

This monitor mount is built like a tank. Very well-made. I'm super impressed with it. Specs say it can hold up to 85 lbs and I'm not surprised at all. Made of aluminum, it is strong, but still not very heavy. 75mm and 100mm VESA Mounting Patterns making it very flexible for mounting all types of video monitors. Nice and strong locking knobs allows you to tighten things down easily and keeps everything secure and gives you peace of mind when set up. Comes with a variety of screws and washers for any of your mounting needs. I love that it has a two-way baby receiver. Again, adding to the flexibility of how you can mount your monitor and viewing angles. Comes with pan and tilt joints which is fantastic. You'll see from the pictures I uploaded that you can position the monitor a variety of ways and make easy adjustments. Even turn it vertically without removing the VESA mount and screws. This is a must have in my opinion for your monitors. It's so much better to have your monitor on a stand that can be easily moved around your studio (or on location), as opposed to setting up your monitor on a table. And this mount accomplishes that. Overall, this is a fantastic, strong and flexible mounting addition for your monitors.

By reading the specifications and looking at the pictures, I already knew what I was going to get here, but when I unboxed it...Wow.. It's a VESA mount on Steroids. Everything is BIG. The knobs and handles, for being large, it's effortless to tighten and untighten and/or lock in any position you want. It provides both, 75 x 75 mm, 100 x 100 mm, according to your VESA needs. Most VESA monitors have 8 threaded holes, however, there is no need to occupy all 8 holes, even for the heaviest loads. Inside the box, you'll find all necessary hardware to mount your monitor. Comes with 8 machine screws. 4 as standard and another 4 as a thicker screw and plenty of washers. Important to know: Some monitors, the threads may be slightly shallower. My Elvid monitor is one of them... In that case, that's why Impact included several washers so you can attach 2 or 3 on the same screw, making your VESA mount perfectly mounted with NO PLAY. The Elvid 15 is an example of that... I'm primarily using this VESA mount with my Elvid FieldVision 4K monitor. It's a rather heavy 15 monitor, especially with the case on, which I plan to have it permanently there. This Impact VESA mount is great for either studio use or location. Combined with an Impact Folding Wheeled Base Stand (search for #IMLSPSFB11), you get an extremely useful setup, with wheels that will make your life easier and this whole setup, not only is useful, but also beautiful and will impress any client. I have photographed and attached 6 images / collages with this review. Be sure to check them out as they are also instructional. 1- Because the locking lever is designed to slide, it can go up and down as you turn it. If during a certain position when you tilt the monitor in a certain angle, if that chrome locking lever happens to park in the way of the actual VESA plate AFTER you finish locking , you can also flip / reverse it upside down and screw the locking knob back in. 2- Using this Impact VESA mount, I assume you're going to mount some heavy loads, and this item can handle it ALL. The load is can handle is up to a massive 85 lb / 38.6 kg!! however, for safety, as far as load weight. or the size of your monitor, it WILL obviously depend on what stand you use. And it has to be a very high quality one. For stability, since a stand is three legged, always make sure that the load gravity is facing one of the stand legs and NOT in between and also sand bag the stand. There's an awesome stand to go with this VESA mount, which I'm using with this mount, the Impact Folding Wheeled Base Stand (Black/Chrome-plated, 11') Search for #IMLSPSFB11. For this stand, the safe weight limit will be the Elvid 15 with case on, or a device no heavier than 20 lb / 9 kg because it can tilt over due to the size / length of its legs. Very impressed with this VESA mount. It's MASSIVE! It will hold whatever device you want up to 85 lb / 38.6 kg. Again, the limit is the stand you choose to use with it.

Works great with 21 inch carry on production monitor. It even allows you to take the arm off the mount so you can close the back of the monitor when you're not using it.

I bought this for my Atomos SUMO 19, I had first bought another mount and wasn't happy with the lack of support, the Impact Heavy-Duty Monitor Mount is what it says it is and more. I recommend to other SUMO users..
