Genaray RGB-6X3S On-Camera RGB LED Light Panel with Tabletop Tripod Kit

This lightweight small cell phone sized light has had a great battery life, a good lighting distance and fits on my camera well. The lighting options are a plus for me and night photography. I have a fog machine and this light works great for changing the color of the fog.

This Generay LED light panel is a sturdy-built versatile light that is remarkable for product photography, with an emphasis on action figure photography. I was able to get very even lighting with just the one light, but when combined with some others it was even better. Despite its small size, it packs a lot of power and I was surprised at how bright it could get, as well as how far the spread was. This was very compact, slim, and features spots on the bottom and side of the light to attach it to a thread for a tripod or arm, allowing for horizontal and vertical orientation. Functionality is easy to understand, and the display on top of the light shows everything you need to know in a simple layout. Also, a big plus was this item was 100% charged immediately out of the box!I also found it great to use in the backdrop of my YouTube videos with myself in the frame to add some color to my shots, and the 21 effects included are useful aside from a handful of flashing lights that are a bit too rapid-paced to do anything other than cause headaches.Generally, I love little LED lights that can offer different temperatures and colors, and this one has gained a permanent home in my collection thanks to how sleek it was, its sturdy metal body, ease of operation, and overall versatility for lighting and light effects.

The Genaray RGB-6X3S On-Camera RGB LED Light Panel, I can easily say it's one of the nicest portable lights I've had. It's all metal made, but the texture on the surface surface is so smooth when handling or holding in your hands, it's almost like it had a protective film on the surface kind of feel (there isn't) and yet somehow it's not slippery.Something minor, but on the shoe mount, I find that the included tightening discs are a bit small, making it a little difficult to get my fingers around on them to tighten and loosen when it's mounted on the camera's hot shoe (and my fingers are actually thin). But if you work with both hands with the thumbs and index fingers pressing firmly against it while turning the disc, it's easy to loosen or tighten. I also like the fact that the brightness and the color temperature are separated from each other and I also find the controls very intuitive, and without looking at it, meaning, the brightness dial should be placed at the bottom, which in this light, IT IS. So, when you are at a dark venue, you know that the last control at the bottom is your brightness and the next one up is the color temperature control, without looking at the device.To access the RGBs, simply press in the M button. Press again, you are at the FZ page, which the are also surprisingly divided in at least 3 categories (CCT / RGB types) instead of all FX mixed. To go to the next FX, keep pressing the Select button. To go back to CCT / RGB, press the M button again.The FX in this light, they are better than most FX I've seen in other lights of this type, especially the cancel light, police and RGB cycle.And of course, it has USB-C, and it comes with a cable included in the package.Now... The stuff that really matters: Performance.Battery:I charged the light in FULL and wanted to wait a whole 24 hours prior to use to see what happens as far as battery holding up the charge The results were great. The battery lasted for 1 hour and 18 minutes, cranked up to 100% they whole time. The light will get pretty warm and this is obviously normal, having the LED's at MAX for over an hour.Exposure:At 100 %, with the light placed at 1 meter / 3ft away, using a light meter shot on a Canon R3 native ISO 800 sensor, I got a reading of f/4 / ISO 800, shutter 1/60 at 24FPS. Imagine what you can do with an aperture of f/2.8 or f/1.8. You can drop the ISO down to 400 or 200 at 1 meter away distance or increase the shutter twice or 4 times faster.As you know, there are several types of LED lights: COB, light panels, fresnels etc. This one is designed to be portable, yet providing a more soft light, it has a nice and wide beam to cover the subject beautifully and evenly, which is the very thing you need for shooting wedding bride bouquets, rings, closeup shots, micro photography or vlogging, or with a subject / person closer to the light. It's not designed to catch a bride and groom's intro coming from 50ft away. That's another type of light and much narrower light beam with lenses on the LEDs which do not provide a soft beam. You can't have both in one.It comes with a cloth pouch and you can still fit the light with the shoe mount attached. It's a tight fit but it will fit. If you need a more rugged protection, also sell mini cases for it.Overall, very pleased with this light.
