AVPro Edge eARC Extender Kit Overview
This eARC Extender Kit from AVPro Edge comprises a transmitter and receiver set that is specifically crafted for the transfer of audio codecs (audio signal exclusively, excluding video data) from a TV to a centralized system distribution point, leveraging the eARC functionality within the HDMI 2.1 specification. With its significantly enhanced audio bandwidth capacity compared to optical connections, eARC facilitates the transmission of high-bitrate lossless codecs from onboard TV apps or ATSC 3.0 NextGen TV Dolby AC-4 tuner audio to an AVR or Preamp-processor. It also offers the versatility to transmit TOSLINK or L/R analog audio through its multi-use ports.
Benefiting from the high protocol overhead of eARC, which is approximately 37 Mb/s, the kit supports a bandwidth rate equivalent to eight channels of 192 kHz, 24-bit uncompressed PCM audio. It reliably transports 3D immersive audio codecs like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X over Cat 6a (recommended cable) for distances up to 328 .Utilizing the HDMI 2.1 eARC return channel feature, AVPro Edge s proprietary High Bitrate-Link I2C analysis ensures precise timing stability during data transfer, accommodating up to 32 uncompressed audio channels, ideal for demanding object-oriented, immersive 3D-audio playback systems often configured by home theater enthusiasts.
The AP-LINK technology maintains accurate bit-for-bit data clocking over extended digital audio codec transmission distances, ensuring uncompromised decoding accuracy and fidelity to the original signal content. AP-LINK monitors and preserves precise audio-with-image synchronization at the display, delivering a natural-looking presentation with all content. The kit handles the 1 Mb/s bidirectional data signal modulated on top of the eARC audio signal, responsible for synchronizing lip-sync correction data, while also managing the transmission of the timed heartbeat signal to the television (which controls the muting of built-in TV speakers). The dedicated data channel of eARC significantly enhances compatibility and reliability compared to ARC, ensuring dependable automation repeatability.
AP-LINK
Synchronizes precision audio data transmission timing, including high bitrate codecs, for performance equivalent to adjacently placed equipment.
Selectable Inputs
Located at the television, the transmitter s selectable inputs may be switched between HDMI ARC or eARC, with an HDMI output available for a soundbar or local gear use. TOSLINK or L/R analog output may be taken from the display and transferred to a remote distribution system location.
Note: This kit does not downmix multichannel audio. Left and right channels are output at the receiver per their input status. Stereo may be selectable in the audio menu of many displays for dialogue output.
L/R & TOSLINK
When switch-selected, dual-purpose analog stereo in/out and mini-TOSLINK connectors provide local use options with sound bars and wireless headphone base units, or at the system endpoint for two-channel audio distribution (audio output type may be required to be selected in the television menu).
PoC Capable
The system can be powered via discrete Power-over-Cable or via supplied 12 VDC adapter.
ARC & eARC
While engineering for the kit is focused on eARC enhancements, ARC is also available for suitably equipped legacy AVRs and pre-processors.
