DECIMATOR DMON-QUAD 4-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer

Having this decimator saves me money because I can have for ur screens in one no matter the different setting of the cameras. I'm loving it.

All decimator products are excellent. This one is no exception. Like all decimator products the menu and options take some getting used to and are best manipulated using the easy to set up USB interface. (btw last time I checked on a PC I was unable to download the software from their website using chrome (use a different browser and it downloads fine.)) This product allows you to preprogram different layouts and quickly switch between them. For example we had a three camera shoot, sometimes they only used two cameras, and sometimes they did an important shot with a different camera. I was able to build 2 and 3 screen profiles and some had the A B or C camera large on screen while the other two were smaller. And I could switch between the profiles instantly. It takes a little understanding to use these advanced functions. What you need to understand is you are going to set up the routing once. A cam from input 1, B from input 2 etc. And then when you move stuff around with the profiles you are not going to change the routing but where the routed inputs go. So if you want to change the order of the display, you don't re-route input 1 to cam B but move cam B to the cam A position. But that's advanced use of the product anyway. You can also pick which input the audio is routed from so you can do a quad and pull only the audio from cam D , which is awesome, the only problem with this that I have discovered is that when you are soloing a input I don't think that the audio routing works in that view. So if you are using a quad and getting the audio from B cam and you solo the A cam, the audio won't come through. As a workaround I build profiles that are multi cam but the camera I want to solo is large and the other cameras are super tiny in the multiviewer. This way you can basically get a solo shot but keep the audio routing. Obviously this solution is only for preview and not for broadcast. But if you need a quad, get this one, it is an excellent product and far better than any similar product that I am familiar with.

This quad multiviewer is awesome. I love decimator design products. It has so much versatility. UMD, tally, audio monitoring. The only negative is it isn't easily manipulated to make a layout. The default layouts are decent but if you want to be able to change a layout design on the fly this isn't your guy. I still give it 5 stars. There is quite a lot of versatility in this little package.

I have 2 Komodo cams and needed a way to feed them both into my Osee monitor and switch between them when needed. While this is definitely easier to use with the software it is also very functional in standalone mode. It does not take much time to wrap your head around using it without the software. It can feed out in multiple ways without any issues and cameras of different frame rates work with any problems. It is an excellent solution that does not get in the way on set.

It's just as good as you can get. Robust construction, Elegant, Flawless with any format you feed them, I love it
