Rhino Camera Gear Arc II 4-Axis Motorized Pan/Tilt Head

My arc ii unit failed and i just wanted to speak with someone from Rhino as to what i could do.. it was outside of warranty but extremely light use, i was prepared to pay something for the fix, but getting hold of anyone at that company is completely impossible, they wont answer the phones and not a single reply to multiple emails after weeks of trying. Disgusting company, look elsewhere for your Slider needs.

I wish I did more research before buying this product! Not only did it stop working after the second time I used it. (It had a motor failure and a faulty battery.) But the experience of getting it fixed was just as dissapointing, what I was told was going to be a 3-day process took way over 3 weeks, I had to constantly follow up for status updates. And after that long wait I was still sent back broken gear, as they claim forgot to check it if it worked. Overall I would not recommend this product or any of their gear.

Solid design. Thus far I like the simplicity and ability to control it and program moves without using the app. I do think powering this during use as opposed to using the battery creates a lot of issues and cable tangles. Also the ethernet cable that runs to the motor is a bit clunky and gets hung up on occasion. This is why I'm providing 4 stars instead of 5.

Rhino customer service is very good. I left a 1 star review re: my bricked Arc II, now Rhino is sending me another one as a replacement. Assuming it works as advertised this time, I think 3 stars is fair. First product definitely had hardware or software faults.

I was really excited to upgrade from the GVM 3-axis slider. On first glance, the Rhino with Arc II seems excellent but after I powered up the app, and tried to set up a shoot with the attached controls, a pang of regret hit. 1) For now you can only set TWO end points. Even the much cheaper GVM had multiple points, and at the same price point, so do the Edelkrone and Syrp. 2) As of now, regardless of which motor you choose, your minimum slider time is 20 and maximum is 60 SECONDS. 3) After you've set your key points, you can not change them unless you clear them both and start over -- so plan well. 4) The high torque motor IS noisy. On the plus, you can swap out one motor for the other in just a few seconds. The high speed motor is virtually silent. In other words, you need two motors. I've had a coupe of other minor issues which I'll set aside to say that, overall, I am happy with this purchase. 1) Customer service has been great. 2) Compared to the Edlekrone, having the controls hardwired to the machine IS a relief -- you're not dependent on a wi-fi connection. 3) You really can assemble it in under a minute; you can change rails in just over a minute (with nimble fingers). Once Rhino comes out with firmware to address the shortcoming I listed above, this will be an excellent slider. Until then, do your research, there are a lot of good sliders out there. If I had to do it again, I might have another look at the Syrp.

I reviewed this product before as missing several key features. I'm happy to report that I've been assured from Rhino that they are implementing said features and more. With said updates rolling out and continuing to roll out this should be among the top motion control kits you can buy with some unique aspects to boot. Two distinguishing aspects of this gear is that it operates without the need for an app unlike Edelkrone, also, its capable of vertical moves, which is unique. Rhino also has a features request page that allows users to offer their own ideas of future updates. Refreshing to get customer support that listens and takes user feedback on board. When all is said and done this product should be a beast, with ongoing support from a USA based company which is a huge plus.
