FREEFLY MoVI XL & Black Arm Complete Vehicle Mount Kit

This features the FREEFLY MoVI XL Motorized Stabilizer and the FLOWCINE Black Arm Complete Dampening System, which enables optimal vehicle-mounted use of the MoVI. The Black Arm Complete features a vibration mount for stabilizing roll and tilt errors as well as vertical motion and vibrations. The MoVI XL supports up to 50 lb payloads while the Black Arm Complete supports up to 70 lb loads (the MoVI weighs 34 lb with batteries).

FREEFLY MÅ VI XL 3-Axis Motorized Gimbal Stabilizer

The FREEFLY MÅ VI XL 3-Axis Motorized Gimbal Stabilizer supports cameras and accessories weighing up to 50 pounds, so it is designed to be mounted on a remote head, jib or other support gear to create smooth cinematic moving shots. It uses three motors and an IMU (inertial measurement unit) to detect and counteract unwanted movement along three axes: pan, tilt, and roll.

The FREEFLY MÅ VI XL is suitable for professional cinema cameras and lenses and compatible with both the Mimic and MÅ VI Controller systems (not included), as well as select Futaba and Spektrum transmitters. As with sled-style stabilizers, the camera should be balanced on the MÅ VI to ensure best performance. Once balanced, the MÅ VI pairs over Wi-Fi to an iOS, Android, or Windows app to finalize the configuration process.

Supported Cameras

The MÅ VI XL is designed to support payloads up to 50 pounds, making it suitable for professional cinema cameras with cinema lenses.

Remote Operation

The MÅ VI XL can be operated remotely either with a dedicated controller or by using the Mimic controller (neither controller is included and must be sourced separately). The MÅ VI XL is compatible as well with most Spektrum and Futaba radios.

App

MÅ VI XL can be configured wirelessly via Bluetooth LE, from the MÅ VI XL app on a mobile device.

Hot Swapping Batteries

You can hot swap the batteries on the MÅ VI XL, but extreme care must be taken to avoid damage to the batteries, and to the operator.

Three Control Modes

• Majestic Mode: For single-operator use. In this mode the gimbal provides stabilization without counteracting operator-directed camera movements. For example, you could set it in majestic to pan with a vehicle turning on streets or a jib with only one operator for example. This mode is especially useful when the MÅ VI XL is deployed on a moving vehicle.
• Stabilized Mode: Assumes no operator input, compensating for all movement it detects. Ideal scenarios for this mode include when the gimbal is mounted to a car or shots where the camera is moving, but the camera angle remains fixed.
• Slew Stabilized Mode: For dual-operator control. In this mode, an operator with a dedicated remote or RC transmitter controls pan, tilt, and roll independently of the support platform.

Freefly Configurator

The Freefly Configurator is a GUI that enables you to precisely adjust your MÅ VI XL via an iOS or Android device over Wi-Fi pairing.

Silent Drive

The motors driving the gimbal have been designed to operate as quietly as possible to ensure you will be able to record sound without picking up any unwanted noise.

Translation Compensation

Making hundreds of adjustments per second, the software works to counteract translation--the bobbing up and down effect while running--when tracking a moving subject moving at high speed.

Shot Recorder

Keeps a record of the camera position (where GPS is available), height, camera pan, tilt, and roll so that the shot can be recreated later or to help Visual Effects align the live action shot with other elements in a CG composite.

Third-Party Mounting

Using separately available mounting hardware, it is possible to mount the MÅ VI XL on cranes, jibs, ad remote heads.

Remote Firmware Updatable

You can upgrade the gimbal to new software features as they are released by Freefly yourself, without having to send the device in for a factory update.

The MÅ VI XL system uses powerful motors that enable you to create smooth shots while on camera platforms moving at high speed.

FLOWCINE Black Arm Complete Dampening System with Tranquilizer Mount & Pro Case

Capture super-stabilized gimbal shots from your car, ATV, boat, snowmobile, or other vehicle with the Black Arm Complete from FLOWCINE. Purely mechanical, this three-axis dampening and vibration-reduction system hard-mounts your gimbal-and-camera setup to your vehicle, stabilizing roll and tilt as well as vertical motion and vibration. The Black Arm s design incorporates a four-spring arm with fully adjustable actuator hydraulic dampers and a platform that levels the separately available gimbal. In addition, between the arm and the mounted gimbal there is an anti-vibration Tranquilizer mount capable of handling loads between 14.8 and 49.6 lb. Mounting the Black Arm is as simple as clamping it onto a standard 48-52mm speed rail.

The damping action of all three axesvertical, tilt, and rollis brought about by the hydraulic dampers. A 22-step knob enables you to precisely dial in the amount of damping you need for your shot. The Black Arm Complete ships with two dampers for each of the three axes. Quickly mount and dismount your MoVI XL gimbal system from various platforms with this MoVI XL Quick Release Kit from Freefly. By mounting the male portion of this quick release unit to your MoVI XL, you can then attach your system to the desired platform, such as a car, boat, jib, Technocrane, etc.

Tested using very demanding conditions, this sturdy quick release kit, made of 6061-T6 black anodized lightweight aluminum, secures your gimbal using a clamping dovetail with safety stops on both sides, keeping the XL firmly mounted.

MoVI XL features a 6 bolt pattern allowing users to mount the gimbal to a variety of devices. The MoVI XL to Mitchell Adapter adapts the 6 bolt pattern to a standard Mitchell Mount. This can be used with or without the MoVI XL quick release. Freefly sets gimbals up to use the Quick Release system as it allows for much faster changeover than bolted or Mitchell mount.
