Letus35 Helix 4-Axis Aluminum Camera Stabilizer with RC Module
Stabilizing your camera moves has become the name of the game, and the Helix 4-Axis Camera Stabilizer with RC Module from Letus35 stabilizes cameras weighting up to 16 pounds in three axes with its brushless gimbals. This Helix is built from aluminum, which provides an excellent balance between weight and strength. The Helix is a powered stabilizer that features a modular design with a removable platform for each of the three axes: roll, pan, and tilt. The modular design allows you to quickly turn your three-axis stabilizer into a one-axis stabilizer. This unit includes the 4th axis, which allows you to mount the Helix on a third party balancing system, such as a Steadicam, or tripod, while retaining full function of the Helix s 3 Axes. An optional spacer is required for mounting the stabilizer to a vest/arm-type stabilizer. The factory installed RC module provides remote control of the pan and tilt functions by a second camera operator.
The Helix balances around the optical center of your camera, providing less stress on the system and your cameras image stabilization system, but also allowing nodal camera rolls. The flat bottom design of the Helix allows you to place it down on a flat surface without requiring a stand mount or other support. It incorporates a cold shoe and 1/4 -20 accessory mounting points on the unit and handgrips.
The Helix is wired according to US standards. Any 3rd-party power accessories must be compatible.
The Helix is designed balance and stabilize around the optical center of your camera/lens combination. This allows you to do nodal point rolls, and as the image sensor movement is reduced significantly compared to off-center stabilizers, image stabilization is improved.
It has been tested to work with cameras as light as the Sony a7S, and works with cameras weighing up to 16 pounds.
The RC module allows you to remotely control the Helix using a Spektrum compatible controller (Spektrum DX7, DX6i, Dx8, etc.).
This Helix comes with the RC module installed. The module provides control of the stabilizer s pan and tilt fucntions by a second operator. The RC module is a factory installation option only, and if you have a Helix that you want to add the RC option to, you will have to send it back to Letus35.
You support the Helix system by holding onto it with two hands the right handgrip allows you to tilt the Helix, while the left handgrip rotates freely.
Each axis platform of the system allows balance adjustment that reduces operating stress on the unit and the operator, and is indexed in millimeters allowing quick re-sets when switching between lenses.
Re-balancing the Helix after a lens changes is simply a matter of sliding a single axis forward or back. You can be back up and running without missing a beat.
The Helix system can be built up or torn down to accommodate your needs. Use one axis on top of an optional arm/vest type stabilizer for an auto-horizon solution. Switch to a three-axis setup to go full handheld.
The electronics are protected from reverse polarity, overheating, and over-current conditions.
The USB interface allows for configuration, control, and firmware upgrades.
