Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera Handles

These handles are a good add-on for those who want to shoot handheld with the BMCC. The camera itself fits well in your hands but these handles will give you much more stability. Movement shots are more stable using the handles than without. The downside is that with your hands on the handle grips you will not be able to change the focus or the other setting on the camera body. This is a little clumsy for the handheld shooter. Even to start the recording requires that you let go of one of the grips. For some shots I ended up laying the handles across my forearm with my hand on the lens for focus adjustment. My other hand held one of the grips. This was a bit awkward and made me think that for shots that need adjustment I will take the handles off. Speaking of, you need a screwdriver to remove the handles. I wish there was a quick release or at the minimum a tool-less design. If they put a focus dial on it and made a quick release this would be a must-have.
