SHAPE Baseplate with 15mm Rods for Canon EOS C500/C300/C100

The product does exactly what it says it will. It is a quality construction and works well. Sometimes the tightening knob hits the bottom of the camera body, but this is a minor minor inconvenience.

My c100 shoulder rig had a cheap camera mount that allowed my camera to spin slightly which I hate, so I got this Shape rail block/mount, and its very nice and solid, no spin anymore. I also have the shape handles and shoulder pad. I love the Shape stuff, they make very high quality gear thats not over priced.

This was my third base plate, so i was not hopeful. I was wrong - it fit perfectly! The plate lined up with all existing holes on the C-100 including 4 smaller holes ( they provide the screws) which, when used, prevents the plate from twisting, and it works beautifully - SOLID AS A ROCK. They also provide choices to connect your tripod plate (i use a manfrotto plate) and have 2 connection points, with different size screws, so the plate will not twist - and it does not - SOLID. I read the bad review, and i can only suggest that he did get a BAD ONE. The unit comes with a set of 12 aluminum rods that fit perfectly, and i have not had any issues with the single screw that tightens both rods. Now , that said, i suppose the screw could STRIP OUT after so many uses, but that remains to be seen. This unit is solid as a rock and not to heavy, and after all, if something does happen they mention a LIFETIME warranty on their video. It's a solid unit - Enjoy!

Had it for 22 days, used it on 3 shoots. The single screw used to tighten everything down is EXTREMELY difficult to turn and the rods have to be forced into the plate. I tried loosening the screw to remove it completely to see if the tension was just stuck, which it was, now the rods slide like butter. but the screw got stripped COMING OUT of the plate!?! Perhaps I got a wonky one...Never had any problems like this with my red rock gear. Needless to say, its going back.

great baseplate for the price. simple but solid. baseplate has these rubber pads built into it that cause the plate to not be flushed with the bottom of the camera. I pulled the pads off and it's fine now.

This is a superb baseplate for the C100 mk2. It's not that heavy. The rods are a little tight going in but I would rather they be tight than loose. Rods lock up tight. The base plate attaches with the 20 and screw (both or just the 20 depending on the plate under your camera). In addition you can use the 4 screws (included) to attach the baseplate to your camera. In short, the camera is rock solid attached to this baseplate. This baseplate positions the rods in just the right place for third party accessories. I am using this baseplate with the Arri MMB-1 but I am sure other matte boxes will fit without issue. The plate has 20 holes on each side of the plate making it possible to attach rosettes but they would be in an inconvenient location. The baseplate comes with two 12 aluminum rods which I did not use because I am using Zacuto rods which are threaded. The SHAPE rods that come with the baseplate look solid but are not threaded. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to others.
