The Cavision Standard Shoulder Pad Package with Viewfinder allows you to use your Canon 5D Mk II or other DSLR in a manner that approximates the shoulder-mounted style of traditional videography. Shoulder-mounted operation will increase your endurance and reduces the jitter of your shooting, for smooth operation over long days on set or on location. The follow focus comes with a 0.5 MOD drive gear. The addition of the viewfinder allows finer control over critical focus and scene framing. The aluminum follow focus device puts smooth control over your lens s focus ring in a position that s much easier to access than the lens barrel itself.
The included Cavision MHE52 Viewfinder magnifies the LCD image by 6x, employing a single glass element and comfortable rubber eyecup. The eyepiece is a similar size to those found on high-end digital cinema cameras such as the Sony F900. The combination of the quick release plate and the swing-away viewfinder connector piece allows you to remove the camera from the rig easily, enabling a quick switch from shoulder-mounted to handheld shooting.
Two pistol-style handgrips attach to the front of the 12 standard 15mm rods. Four included spacers allow you to adjust the height of the MHE52 Viewfinder to fit almost any DSLR camera. The Standard Shoulder Pad Package puts your camera on rods, it s easy to expand the system in case you want to add a zoom control device or matte box.
The follow focus includes a Fujinon compatible 0.5 MOD drive gear which is compatible with Cavision gear rings (not included). If using other brand gear rings you may need the optional 0.8 MOD Film/Cine gear for the follow focus.
Shoulder pad is adjustable to fit different shoulder sizes and features two tilt adjustments.
Both handgrips offer swivel adjustment.
Swing-away piece features horizontal and forward/backward adjustment, as well as swing-away function for easy access to buttons and camera viewfinder.
Follow Focus Device
Constructed of aluminum, the basic single-wheel follow focus features entirely geared transmission for smooth control over the focus ring with minimal backlash. With a horizontal adjustment, it accommodates different lens types and sizes. The follow focus includes Fujinon gear type.
