Kondor Blue Full Cage with Top Handle for Canon R5/R6/R (Raven Black)

I love this cage. Been looking for a cage that would provide me a quick conversion from shooting video to shooting photos. I can go straight from the tripod and just pull the camera out to go hand held with no cage but still maintain the arca Swiss plate to put it on my gimbal then slide back into the cage where it can be in the full right, pop it off the rails with the cage for handheld mode in a snap with a quick release. just overall a great flexible system. Good job Kondor Blue!

I'm not sure if I will be keeping this or not. It is the only R5 cage that currently has a quick release plate and a remote start/stop trigger, and that is the only reason I chose it over the upcoming Small Rig release. Pros: -Quick release plate -Remote start/ stop trigger on the handle -Lots of customizable clamping and threading options -The only brand that has also made their cage compatible with the battery grip Cons: -My R5 constantly wobbles despite how tight I thread the quick release plate. -If you decide to build the included cable manager, you cannot fully articulate your swivel screen. -The quick release plate has markings for camera placement based on your body type. However if you follow these markings, they place the R5 in a way where you cannot grip the R5s handle properly because it does not sit flush with the right side of the cage. -If you try your own custom placement, you can almost get the R5 to sit flush so that you can access your grip, but it scrapes the top of the camera where your shoe mount is, and it still blocks a few buttons on the R5 handle. -It does not include the Kondor Blue body cap as one would think, since it does not say anywhere in the listing that it is sold separately. Time will tell if I keep it. I did purchase two separate SmallRig Left/Right handles in the mean time since this cage essentially makes my camera's built-in grip inoperable if I also want to have access to my buttons. I could not do handheld work with it as-is.

Paired with the Canon R5 and a 19mm Studio rod system making it a hybrid 15mm LWS and 19mm Studio rod systems and has quick release plates everywhere for different payloads.

Great cage for the price, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone considering a cage for their Canon R,R6 or R5! The Kondor Blue cage fits my R5 perfectly and allows for almost any mounting configurations neatly and without allot of hassle. The top handle breaks down and builds back up in seconds with the nato rail system. The remote trigger works flawlessly once you set the shutter button to start recording video on a full press. The cage was shipped to South Africa via DHL and I have no complaints there.

Love this thing but WHY were there no instructions in the package? Something tells me it was done on purpose? I have extra parts and have 0 clue there they go

The cage is made so poorly because it's held together with little screws that strip if you try to tighten them. having the base part of the cage made in two parts means it wiggles if the pressure of a focus fallow system is placed on it. the whole thing bounces around because the gears keep slipping. This thing doesn't even support mounting something to the cage because of this, you put weight on one side of the system, and the cage starts to loosen up. I bought this cage because it looks sturdy, but I was wrong.

I really like the build quality of this cage. It's snug but doesn't obstruct access to any ports. My only criticism - the top button is convenient, however it's placement partially overlaps with my shotgun mic in the cold shoe mount, so that's not perfect. Otherwise, I'd recommend it! It has lots of mount options. It's hefty. The quality is great. I like it enough that I've ordered several other Kondor Blue attachments.
