SmallRig Adjustable Chest Pad with 15mm LWS Rod Clamp

The idea is great... as a matter of fact, I submitted this idea to SmallRig in writing years ago.The execution is not great. Cool hardware but poorly conceived. Two problems... 1) The mount screw (for the 15mm bars) is on top of the unit, where things like rig battery gets in the way. So I have to mount it upside down... not a deal breaker, but kinda silly.2) The bigger problem is the hinge placement for the soft pad. And this is simple engineering and not enough user testing... The hinge point is a full 2 away from the pad that is braced against the users body. Why is this a problem? The hinge should be as close to the users body as possible. Because the pad should be a little loose (not sagging) so that it adapts to wherever you place it against your body... by having the hinge about 2 from your body, you now have a fulcrum and that pad can swing about 4 from top to bottom. (i.e unstable). So when you press the pad against your chest (for example), it is easy for the pad hinge to rotate and drop the pad down your chest... in other words, because the hinge is 2 from your body instead of on the back of the pad, it is unstable unless you lock the pad into place.And finally, #3)... the pad is supposed to be versatile for whatever your needs are in the moment. The current setup requires a tool to lock or loosen the hinge point... should be a knob to unlock the hinge point and make adjustments.
