You can mount the plate onto the bottom of your camera using one of its 1/4 -20 threads, and also mount accessories using its numerous 1/4 -20 threads, 1/4 -20 threads with locating holes, and a side NATO rail. There is padding on top of the plate to prevent your camera from twisting or scratching.
