Made from an orange anodized magnesium alloy, the plate is lightweight and strong enough to stand up to the rigors of a production day. The rubberized patches on top provide increased grip while protecting your camera from metal-to-metal contact for a good grip without overtightening the tie-down screw.
The plate has a slotted channel that allows you to adjust the position of the tie-down screw and your camera to rough in the balance, and you can slide the plate within your tripod head s platform to find the optimal balance for your camera rig. The included 1/4" -20 and 3/8" -16 stainless steel captive tie-down screws stay in the channel when no camera is attached, making it less likely they will get lost when moving from location to location.
