Nice and solid and well machined. Works really well to balance the camera when mounted on the tripod head. Location markers on the plate make repeat camera location on the tripod head a snap.

Pretty straight forward, and that's definitely a play on words. Does a great job of allowing additional front to back movement of your video camera on a Manfrotto video tripod head. Has built it safety stops and when combined with a V-Lock plate, makes for an ideal and secure camera mounting solution. Well made in the typical Manfrotto style.

This is one of three different Manfrotto made Quick Release Plates I have bought, and they all have design flaws. This 7 long plate is incompatible with most Nikon cameras and lenses without having to buy additional parts; if you can even obtain them. No Nikon camera body or lens uses a 3/8-16 screw thread, so you really need two(2) of the 1/4-20 captive screws; not a 1/4-20 and a 3/8-16. The rubber grommet ends up wasting 1/2 inch of the slot length. They should drill and tap a 1/4-20 hole at 2cm from one end, and do a 3/8-16 at 2cm from the other end, and then connect them with the slot, which would give 14cm total length available between two screws, and you could use it for two 1/4-20s or two 3/8-16s or one of each. The extra 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 screws are available, but you have to find them separately. Considering that the same company makes these plates, and the pan/tilt heads and tripods, their designers should talk to each other. I have got them to where I can use them after a whole lot of work

If you have a manfrotto head (501, 501 PL or 504) is very importan To have a quick release plate 7 because it allows us to mount different lenses and to keep a perfect balance in our tripod Sometimes we have remove the camera from the tripod in order to put back later, before we looked at the scale and recorded in our minds the number it was in and that helps when we put it back on the tripod.
