Robus 75mm Half Ball Leveling Adapter

Great leveling adapter, I chose this over others since I preferred using a half ball vs a universal style for leveling (less bulk and weight). Matches up with the Robus tripods out of the box since they come with a 75mm bowl. Hard to beat for the price and quality, highly recommend!

Locks down well, makes leveling the tripod head a breeze, the only reason for four stars instead of five is that movement could be a bit smoother

Solid unit, easy install and a secure hold to the tripod and the mounted camera / lens combination. With this ball leveling adaptor it becomes easy to level the tripod set on any terrain. I would appreciate a larger bubble level, and this is my only nit-pick. Great set for the price.

This has made leveling a ball head so much faster and easier than adjusting the tripod legs. Well worth adding one to your tripod! Fit and function are perfect and locks up solid!

I got this to go with my Robus tripod so that I can easily level my video fluid head. It's very well made and the fit and finish are far better than I was expecting. I am a long time Gitzo user and king used to that level of quality, was hesitant to purchase a Robus tripod to begin with. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the tripod itself and the half ball adapter. It's super stable and exactly what I was looking for. I use the flat plate that came with the tripod for my Kirk BH-1 ball head and the leveling adaptwe for my video fluid head. I can switch from one to the other within 10 seconds in the field, with no tools. All of this for half the price I would have paid for the Gitzo!!!

I purchased this leveling half-ball adapter for use with my Rhobus RC-8860 Vantage (Series 5) tripod which included the 75mm video bowl in which this seats. As good as my Rhobus tripod is, it was (like all tripods) still annoyingly difficult to level on uneven terrain when trying to set up quickly to photograph or video wildlife. This adapter solves that problem. I can now drop and lock the legs of my tripod on an uneven surface, press the spiked feed down quickly into the soil, and with just a quarter turn of the handle of this adapter, loosen this half-bowl, level the head using the built-in bubble-level (which works surprisingly well), and with one final quarter turn back, have everything locked, leveled, and ready for use. Even with a fairly substantial weight on the leveling adapter, it doesn't slip or shift once locked down, even with a heavy gimbal, large supertelephoto lens, and full-frame camera body mounted to it. While the leveling bowl has never once shifted on me while in use (tripod firmly footed on the ground), it Has shifted on me once when I was hiking with the tripod (with gimbal, lens, camera mounted) slung over my shoulder. It's worth pointing out that there wasn't any danger of it slipping out of its mount or disconnecting/dropping the lens or anything of the sort. It just rotated in its bowl/base a bit, causing the lens/camera to shift unexpectedly. In retrospect, I suspect this adapter isn't intended to support that kind of weight (and rotational force) when the tripod is slung over one's shoulder on a hike. In the future, I will loosen the adapter's handle a bit (allowing it to rest) when hiking.
