Using a linear travel suspension (LTS), the 1 tweeter s highs are transmitted with minimal distortion for increased detail. The aluminum construction is lightweight, yet rigid, to further improve audio detail and deliver improved sonic resolution.

Borrowing technology from Klipsch s Reference Premiere line, each R-40SA speaker utilizes spun-copper thermoformed crystalline polymer (TCP) for the 4 woofer. This aligns the cone at a steeper angle for better accuracy and transparency, along with smoother response. This is in addition to ribbing being added for better rigidity that ultimately results in less cone breakup at higher frequencies.
Solid Construction
The smooth and sleek black textured wood grain vinyl exterior of each speaker is supported by a solid, reinforced 3/4 MDF with updated bracing. This robust construction helps reduce vibration.
