iFi audio Aurora Wireless Speaker System
Enjoy playback of a variety of music services with the iFi AUDIO Aurora Wireless Speaker System. It features Wi-Fi connectivity to provide access to some of your favorite music services, including Spotify and TIDAL, which are built-in. AirPlay connectivity is also onboard, allowing you to stream from your compatible iOS device. Bluetooth is also featured for wireless streaming from your compatible smartphone, tablet, or computer.
The Aurora also has wired inputs, including optical and digital coaxial, which would let you use it as a soundbar for your TV, and ART technology adapts the audio output to your room. You can use multiple Aurora speakers throughout the house for simultaneous playback. A remote control is included as an added convenience.
French Design with Japanese Inspiration
Clad in bamboo with an aluminum frame, the Aurora is designed to mimic the grand scale of Japanese architecture, with crisp, clean lines intertwined with a hint of vintage.
PureEmotion Amp Technologies
PureEmotion technology helps combine purity of tone with a high level of engagement, speed, and dynamic gusto to ensure that the emotive quality of your music is delivered in full effect. This is a hybrid circuit design comprised of several stages the preamp stage incorporates a 6N3P tube (visible through a window next to the OLED display) that takes the analog audio signal delivered by the onboard DAC and adds gain in preparation for further amplification to add tonality, open imaging, and natural fluidity.
Analog Amplification
Using an analog amplifier helps avoid the artificial, lossy sound produced from digital signal processing.
SoundSpace
SoundSpace technology is designed to deliver a room-filling sound with a large sense of scale and space. This is achieved by using a proprietary matrix for the drive unit array, adjusting the level of output from specific drivers at certain frequencies.
TrueBass
TrueBass technology is engineered to provide genuine bass with depth and definition to reproduce everything from timpani to a bass guitar with power and poise. This is done with the two steel downward-firing bass radiators to add realistic depth and definition. Dual-level depth control means you can adjust the bass response according to your preference down to 27 Hz.
Auto Room Tailoring (ART)
ART enables the Aurora to auto-configure the speakers according to its position in the room, allowing you to use it the way you want. Place it under and connect it to your TV for use as a soundbar, or link several Aurora speakers together over Wi-Fi to create a multiroom system that can play synchronized or individually from services like Spotify, Tidal, and TuneIn. At the press of a button, six sensors measure the distance to the surrounding walls using ultrasonic sound, then the onboard 32-bit ARM Cortex microprocessor adjusts the output from the speaker array to tailor the musical performance.
Bluetooth 5.0
The Aurora uses Bluetooth 5.0 with the Qualcomm 5100 series chipset and the ESS Sabre DAC. The Qualcomm 5100 series supports aptX, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX Adaptive, LDAC, HWA/LHDC, and AAC.
Versatile Connectivity
In addition to wireless connectivity, the Aurora has optical, digital coaxial, 3.5mm, USB, and Ethernet, plus a microSDHC card slot.
LINKPLAY
With LINKPLAY Wi-Fi/network playback, Spotify and TIDAL built-in, and versatile protocol support for 32-bit/192 kHz files, the Aurora can be used without a computer to stream audio directly.
No-SoC Design
The Aurora doesn t use a SoC (system on a chip) design, instead using a combination of discrete elements to get the most from each stage. The Qualcomm chip routes the raw digital Bluetooth signal to a specialized Sabre DAC chip to convert the signal from digital to analog, and any jitter is virtually eliminated by the GMT femto-precision clock system. The discrete ESS Sabre Hyperstream DAC features time domain jitter eliminator, discrete oscillator, and 12 dB dynamic range for discerning listeners.
AMR s Global Master Timing (GMT) / Memory Buffer System
This system is designed to solve the digital SPDIF jitter issue.
